I always loved Rory and Logan together. Is that unpopular? idk. I feel like he was the best of all her relationships. I think she was different with him but in a good way. I hated that they broke up. Or at least, I hated why they broke up. I hated that it was an all or nothing situation when it came to their engagement. Obviously Logan knows how important work is to Rory and she was 22/23! It didn’t make sense that it had to be a right then and there type of thing. I guess it’s unrealistic to have a character “have it all” but I didn’t like that the message in the end was love or work not both.

I understand that there are more important things to report on than Justin Bieber’s arrest (i.e. Ukraine, Syria, the young boy who died rescuing people in a fire, etc.)

But, in my opinion, it’s still a HUGE deal. It might make the news because it’s a celebrity but it’s important because he’s a celebrity that a lot of young people adore. A lot of people mock extreme Beliebers who do things like send death threats but those people think he does no wrong. That is a problem when he’s doing things like drinking and driving and putting other people’s lives at risk.

It’s important to bring this up in the media, to give it attention, to send the message that it is not okay

A lot of people will try and tell you that a woman should watch how she dresses so she doesn’t tempt you to look at her wrongly. Here is what I will tell you. It is a woman’s responsibility to dress herself in the morning. It is your responsibility to look at her like a human being regardless of what she is wearing. You will feel the temptation to blame her for your wandering eyes because of what she is wearing – or not wearing. But don’t. Don’t play the victim. You are not a helpless victim when it comes to your eyes. You have full control over them. Exercise that control. Train them to look her in the eyes. Discipline yourself to see her, not her clothes or her body. The moment you play the victim you fall into the lie that you are simply embodied reaction to external stimuli unable to determine right from wrong, human from flesh. Look right at me. That is a ridiculous lie.

friendly reminder that “Date a Girl Who Reads” was a response essay to “Date a Girl Who Doesn’t Read” and not just some random piece.

my first post (http://ajamesandlilykindoflove.tumblr.com/post/60886873335/so-i-just-saw-a-post-about-how-we-as-americans) was more of a personal stance on why I thought the “it’s time to move on” post about 9/11 was unnecessary.

but on a completely different note, it’s not right to just move on like that. Historically and politically, 9/11 was pivotal. It launched us into a completely new era in history and while that period has been difficult and the US is definitely not blameless, it makes the events that happened significant beyond a personal level. Years from now, kids are going to be learning about 9/11 not just as a tragedy (which, no matter how small it may seem to you, it was) but as an important historical event.

for any of you that have watched The Lion King 2, you know that part where Timon yells, “GET OUT OF OUR PRIDE LANDS!”

that’s what I feel like whenever Justin Bieber/Lily Collins/Jamie Campbell Bower or hate shows up in the Jily tag.

Lily was not pregnant when she died.

Lily was not pregnant when she died.

PoA feels.

So I just finished reading PoA again and so many Marauders feels as usual. but I also got a lot of Jily and Harry feels. There’s this part when Harry thinks for a split second about how once he can produce a patronus he won’t hear Lily and James dying anymore but that means he’ll never hear them again because that’s the only a time he ever gets to hear them. And when he produces a corporeal patronus for the first time, it’s right after he finds out the truth about Sirius and Remus and how he has a family in them and I always assumed that’s what the memories were that he used for his patronus. but the actual moment he finds the strength to do it is after he thinks it’s James that cast the patronus but then realizes it’s him. He can produce a charm that requires the happiest memories after he realizes that he is his father and that he’s found James in himself. How absolutely insane is that. All he ever wanted was a family and he found his parents in himself and he’s covered by his mother’s love and he has his father’s spirit but he never gets to meet them and it’s JUST NOT FAIR DAMN IT.

it’s cute how people who invade our tag don’t realize how powerful and angry our fandom can be.

get the bloody hell out of our tag.

okay so I finished rereading Philosopher’s Stone and no where did they mention that James and Lily were 21 so unless Jo told them the casting people probably didn’t think they were so young when they casted them for the movie.
